The Chiefs do have a win to their credit, which came against the New Orleans in overtime.

Suffice to say that the Chiefs are bad. Real bad.

And we all get the luxury of watching them on the national stage in primetime on Thursday night on NFL Network against the San Diego Chargers. And with the Chargers coming off of a loss to the woeful Cleveland Browns, let’s be honest here it’s not the sexiest game that we could have hoped for.

Well, if you are a fan of turnovers and sloppy play, this could be your game.

These two teams rank near the bottom of the NFL in turnover margin, with the Chiefs actually ranking dead last at -18 in that department. That is a recipe for losing football games, and Kansas City has done a good job at that.

The Chiefs need to get the ball to Jamaal Charles more. These six-yard performances on two and three carries is not going to cut it. Charles has proven to be a huge playmaker, so it’s beyond me why they do not get him the ball more. It reminds me of the Eagles and LeSean McCoy and how for the life of me I can’t figure out why McCoy doesn’t get the ball 20-25 times a game on the ground and Andy Reid throws the ball with Michael Vick every single down.

On the other side of the field for the Chargers, quarterback Philip Rivers have been a turnover machine as well this season, throwing nine interceptions. But it’s not just the interceptions, it’s also the six fumbles that he has lost this season, several of which have directly resulted in a loss late in the game.

The NFL won’t say it, but this is one of the last matchups that they would like to have on their Thursday night edition of football in Week 9.

But at the very least, it should be entertaining simply based on the fact that we don’t know what will happen. We expect a ton of turnovers but watch them both come out and play mistake free football.

Haha, just kidding.

The Kansas City Chiefs are the only team in the NFL not to have held a league in a game this season in regulation.
