NFL Week 7 Power Rankings

There is just one undefeated team left in the NFL, as we saw the Houston Texans fall from the ranks of the unbeaten in Week 6. That leaves only the Atlanta Falcons a the lone team in the league without a blemish on the record.

But coming into Week 7, are the Falcons really the best team in the NFL? After all, there are some very good teams out there with a loss to their record.

Let’s check out our top-five team this week and see how they stack up.

1. Atlanta Falcons

You bet they are! Atlanta has shown that they have the ability to win games in a variety of ways, as was on full display this past weekend. The Falcons simply weren’t clicking on offense, but their defense made some big plays, including an interception returned for a touchdown. The fact of the matter is that Atlanta is solid on both offense and defense. I can also guarantee you that they will be undefeated going into Week 8, as this is their Bye in Week 7.

2. Houston Texans

The Texans’ vulnerabilities were shown against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night in front of the country. Houston was beaten in every facet of the game. But One game does not a season make, and Houston is much better than they showed in Week 6. We looked for Houston to bounce back.

3. New York Giants

The Giants went on the road and flat out crushed San Francisco. The 49ers had beaten their last two opponents by a combined score of 79-3. Against the Giants, they lost 26-3 at home, with New York out playing them on both sides of the ball. New York is looking very good right now, and will definitely have something to say about the defense of their Super Bowl title.

4. Chicago Bears

The Bears enjoyed a week off and will get back to action this weekend. Chicago is in control of the NFC North division thanks in large part to a defense that has scored five touchdowns this season. When a defense is playing like that, it’s hard to argue.

5. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have lost a ton of players on defense, highlighted by Ray Lewis with a torn triceps. Still, Baltimore has plenty of playmakers, but that has mostly been on the offensive side of the ball. Joe Flacco and Torrey Smith have developed quite the quarterback-receiver relationship, and combine that with the threat of Ray Rice and you have quite the dynamic offense.
