How The 2013 NFC East Will Finish

Tony RomoComing into an NFL season the NFC East is always one of the more compelling divisions to talk about. That’s because it is one of the most balanced divisions in football. That continues to be true coming into the 2013 NFL season, with any of the four teams in the NFC East capable of winning it and making the playoffs.

Last season, it was the Washington Redskins who won the division, beating the Dallas Cowboys in the final week of the regular season in what was a de facto division title championship game.

The 2013 season has the makings of all the same excitement and drama, with Philadelphia and the New York Giants hoping to get in on the action this time around.

The Eagles had a very disappointing season which resulted in the firing of head coach Andy Reid. In his pace comes Chip Kelly from Oregon. Kelly is an offensive genius and will try to implement the system that had so much success at Oregon, into the Eagles. The loss of Jeremy Maclin was big for Philadelphia though, as the receiver tore his ACL just days into training camp.

The big question on the table though is how these teams will finish and which one will claim the division title.

If we look at the betting odds, then the Giants are the favorites, though just barely. The Cowboys and Redskins are right behind. It’s actually the Eagles who are the division underdogs, which is a complete 180 from last season.

Of course, expectations don’t really mean much, it’s about what produces on the field. The 2013 Philadelphia Eagles are indicative of that.

NFLSeasonSchedules.com will take a shot at the NFC East Division

How They’ll Finish….

Dallas Cowboys 10-6: The Cowboys will finally put it together and win a division title to reach the postseason by virtue of a tie break. The division will be very close once again.

New York Giants 10-6: The Giants will tie for the division but lose out on the playoff spot with a tiebreak to Dallas. New York will then have to hope to squeeze into the postseason with a wildcard, which we believe they will.

Washington Redskins 9-7: The Redskins take a small step back in 2013, as defenses figure out RGIII. Washington will keep it close to try and make the playoffs, but they will fall just short.

Philadelphia Eagles 7-9: Philadelphia’s first season under Kelly won’t result in a playoff berth, but they will win more games this year than last year. It will be a year of progress.
