Top Matchups To Watch In Week 1 Of The 2013 NFL Regular Season

Falcons vs SaintsWe are less than 100 days out from the start of the 2013 NFL regular season. Opening night gets going on Thursday, September 5th between the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens and the Denver Broncos.

Obviously this matchup will be one of the top games of opening week. Here at NFLSeasonSchedules.com, we wanted to take a look at some of the other marquee showdowns for Week 1 of the season.

Here are some of the top games we are looking forward to.

Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos – Thurs. Sept 5th @ 8:30pm ET on NBC

It starts right at the beginning of the season in Week 1, with the champs going to Denver to match up with Peyton Manning and company. This will be Manning’s second season with the Broncos, and expectations are sky high. As for the Ravens, it will be interesting to see how they respond after an offseason that was highlighted with the Super Bowl win, as well as the players who are no longer with the team. There were certainly some big changes.

Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints – Sun. Sept 8th @ 1pm ET on Fox

It will be a clash between the top-two teams in the NFC South as the Saints and Falcons matchup in Week 1. New Orleans will have head coach Sean Payton back after he served the season-long suspension from bounty gate. The Saints are going to try to forget about the 2012 season and move forward. As for Atlanta, it’s about taking that next step. They reached the NFC Championship and hosted it last season, but lost to San Francisco.

Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers – Sun. Sept 8h @ 8:30pm ET on NBC

Two of the top-favorites in the NFC collide in Week 1 in primetime, with the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers hosting the Green Bay Packers. Two star quarterbacks will be on hand. For the 49ers’ Colin Kaepernick, he will try to back up a great performance in 2012 with another one in 2013 to prove that he is not a one-hit wonder. And we all know that Aaron Rodgers is pretty darn good. This is a playoff rematch, won by San Francisco.
